In this digital finishing process, selected parts are coated with a transparent, glossy varnish, optically highlighting them. A printable PDF and digital images are used to determine exactly where the lacquer should be applied.

Traditional refinements as an alternative
Digital spot varnishing finishes or covers certain elements with a glossy, transparent varnish. Of course, your label can also feature traditional refinements that create similar effects: unieketiket.nl offers hot foil stamping, blind embossing or embossing.
If you alternatively or additionally choose hot foil stamping, a tool is used to apply foil (without partial deformation) to specific areas. We offer hot foil in different colors and with different effects. Blind embossing involves a partial deformation on the label. There is also relief embossing, which is a combination of blind embossing and hot foil stamping: certain areas on the label are not only deformed, but at the same time also provided with a foil.
Compared to traditional refinements, digital spot varnish is advantageous because it does not use traditional tools. Keep in mind that spot varnish creates only limited visual and tactile effects similar to traditional finishing touches. For complex effects, we recommend traditional refinements. Our spot varnish is transparent, so color reproduction is limited. This can be compensated for by choosing the color of the substrate.
An extra dose of protection
Finishes with protective function include film lamination and protective varnish. Protective varnish not only gives your label a higher-quality or more striking surface, but at the same time protects it from normal wear and tear. With film lamination, a transparent film rather than lacquer is applied to the label as protection against persistent wear and tear.
