How do labels become scratch-resistant?

We always recommend an abrasion-resistant polypropylene (PP) film as the basis for scratch-resistant labels, because film labels are naturally abrasion-resistant and resistant to moisture and oil. To optimally protect the label surface from abrasion, we recommend the use of a so-called film lamination, i.e. an additional layer of transparent film applied to the label, thus protecting it not only from abrasion, but also from moisture and oil. At unieketiket.nl you can order film lamination in matte and glossy. In addition to the “normal” film lamination, we also offer an extra scratch-resistant film lamination. Note: “Scratch-resistant” does not mean that the labels are resistant to intentional damage with fingernails or other tools. The film lamination protects the label from abrasion and scratches caused by everyday use of the products in question, but not from intentional damage.

Wear-resistant labels on roll or sheet

At unieketiket.nl, you have the choice: as a professional label manufacturer, we print your labels both on rolls and sheets. Both production variants are suitable for different areas of application. Production on sheets is particularly suitable for manual processing, because labels on sheets cannot be applied to packaging by machine. Another advantage is that printing on sheets is especially worthwhile for small runs.

Manufacturing your labels on roll is the ideal option if you want to process the labels mechanically, i.e. apply them to the product by machine. Of course, roll labels can also be applied to the product by hand. Below, we have listed both options with all their advantages and disadvantages for you. Labels on rolls or sheets?

Labels on rolls or sheets? Which option is suitable for my application? At unieketiket.nl you have the choice between producing your labels on rolls or sheets. Both production methods have their advantages and disadvantages and are suitable for different applications. We will explain when which production method is best for your labels. The first major difference is the further processing of the labels: roll production is best suited for machine processing. With roll labels, the winding direction, roll core and roll diameter and the number of labels per roll can also be determined individually and as required. Labels on sheets, on the other hand, are not suitable for machine application and are ideal if you apply the labels to your product by hand.

The second difference is the print run. In general, printing on rolls is more suitable for large runs, while sheets are ideal for smaller runs. However, what is the optimal solution must always be assessed on a job-by-job basis. Both roll labels and sheet labels can be freely designed in terms of shape, size and design. However, there are limitations in terms of material selection: while for roll labels you can freely choose from our more than 15 standard materials, material selection for labels on sheets is limited. Moreover, labels on sheets cannot be given additional finishing.
