Our options for sustainable labels
When we talk about sustainable labels, we distinguish three sustainability aspects for which unieketiket.nl offers options: production, adhesives and materials.
Production
Our modern production site combines innovative technology with ecological optimization! Your sustainable labels are printed at unieketiket.nl CO₂-reduced with digital printing, as opposed to offset printing. This not only ensures shorter delivery times, but also minimizes environmentally polluting waste. Chemically treated printing plates made of metal are not needed. Moreover, the printing machines can be set up very quickly, saving time, energy and material.
Special adhesives
Reuse and recycle? unieketiket.nl has labels with adhesive types that allow labels to be easily removed after use, such as easily removable labels and wash-off labels. Labels with wash-off adheseive are specially designed to be removed from a package with a cleaning process, without leaving adhesive or paper residue. These are popular for the use of deposit bottles, for example. Beekeepers also like to use removable labels for their honey jars to ensure that the jars can be used more than once.
Label materials
Our labels made of material that is, recycled, recyclable or made from renewable natural resources are especially sustainable. Two examples: The FSC-certified “hemp paper” has a unique, rustic look and consists of 50% western European hemp. Producing more sustainably: 5 tips
- Choose sustainable packaging. Look for ways to reduce packaging material and use sustainable alternatives. For example, our packaging is made entirely of recycled paper with shredded waste cardboard as filler material.
- Make sure recycling is possible. Match the material of the label to the packaging so that it can be easily recycled as a whole. Are you using glass containers without a deposit? Then use labels made of paper, these will burn during the glass remelting process. With plastic containers, it is important that you choose labels of the same material as the container, such as PE labels on PE bottles. These choices prevent rejection in recycling processes and minimize environmental impact.
- Sustainability and quality. Produce only products and use only packaging that is long-lasting, reusable or easily repairable. Our removable labels are easily removable so your packaging can be reused.
- Minimize waste. Waste in production must be responsibly managed and recycled. The goal is to have as little waste as possible end up in the gray container. At unieketiket.nl, cutting scraps are vacuumed up, shredded, recycled and reused.
- Energy efficiency. Choose energy-efficient machines and renewable energy sources. unieketiket.nl uses 100% regional solar energy sourced from a nearby solar farm.
