How does protective varnish work?
After your individual labels are printed, in a final step, they are coated with a so-called protective varnish. This involves applying a clear, liquid varnish to the surface of your labels on sheets or your roll labels, which is then dried with a UV lamp. This seals the top surface and protects it from color fading. Basically, unieketiket.nl offers the protective varnish in glossy or matte. For matte materials we recommend the matte protective varnish and for glossy paper or film, glossy varnish is suitable. In this way, the appearance of the material is preserved.

As an alternative to our protective varnish, which protects against easy wear, we offer a matte or glossy film lamination that protects against stubborn wear and makes your labels more robust. When film lamination is applied, a liquid adhesive is first applied to the high-quality labels. Using pressure and UV light, the film adheres to the label thanks to the adhesive. We recommend film lamination especially for products from the cosmetics or chemical industry.
If your products are packed in such a way that they rub against each other, for example, or if you want 100% protection against color fading, we recommend film lamination in any case. Protective varnish: flexible use
Another advantage of protective varnish over film lamination is its flexible compatibility. While protective varnish is compatible with all materials and our decorative finishes, such as blind embossing or embossing, film lamination is not suitable for these printing techniques. Tip: Labels with varnish are suitable for post-processing with a thermal transfer printer.
