Ecological responsibility is fast becoming the norm in the B2B sector. The realization that we need to reduce our ecological footprint has taken hold. The sustainable use of natural resources is therefore also a matter of course for us, as a professional label manufacturer. You want sustainable labels and attach great importance to protecting the environment? So do we! Therefore, at unieketiket.nl sustainability is the most important starting point. Because we are responsible for the planet we live on!
Ecologically responsible production
The production in of our labels is continuously optimized where ecological aspects play the leading role. When printing your self-adhesive labels, we take environmental aspects into account. Our goal is to continuously minimize our ecological footprint. We have already achieved this:
- Our company fleet consists of 100% electrically powered vehicles.
- For the packaging of your labels, filling plastic has been eliminated and we use only filling material made of 100% recycled cardboard.
- As an online business, we rely on paperless communication. We also send invoices digitally.
- We source our electricity from environmentally friendly and locally produced solar energy.
- For heating, we use effective heat recovery from the printing presses. This saves about 80% of energy costs.
- Digital printing allows us to produce your labels in a CO2-saving manner, without chemically treated printing plates. This saves significantly on materials and their production and prevents large amounts of waste.
- Paper and material scraps are automatically extracted and discharged and collected with a pipe system. The material is then offered for recycling.
- We have washable and easily removable label materials in our portfolio, allowing bottles or jars, after removing the labels, to be properly recycled.
Sustainable and environmentally friendly materials for your labels
As customers increasingly demand sustainable labeling materials, unieketiket.nl meets this demand and offers a wide selection:
- Almost all of our papers are FSC® Mix Credit certified (see calculator).
- Grass paper, made with 30% grass fibers
- Hemp paper, with 50% hemp fibers
- Bio-based PE film,
- Recycled paper
- Removable and washable label materials. With this, after the product is used, the packaging can be easily separated from the label. This allows the packaging and label materials to be reused and/or recycled.

Note: Due to their unique properties, different batches of natural paper may vary slightly in color and texture. Due to the structure of the material, fine lettering and elements may be lost. Irregularities may occur with full-surface printing.
Washable labels
For all products in deposit bottles or jars, the use of washable labels on rolls is ideal. After the bottles are returned, the labels can be removed by washing the bottles in a bath of lye solution. We offer a number of paper variations with washable adhesive. See here: washable labels.
FSC® materials for your labels.
Customers consciously choose a product. The trend is that the purchasing decision depends more and more on ecological aspects. And to offer our customers products that deal responsibly with raw materials and the environment, we offer FSC-certified materials (FSC Mix Credit) from responsible sources.
What does FSC Mix Credit mean?
Both materials from FSC-certified forests and recycled materials were used in the production of this material. At unieketiket.nl we use the FSC Mix 70%, which means that at least 70% of the material comes from FSC-certified forests. Alternative plastic materials (PP and PE)
For the plastic materials PP and PE, we have alternatives that help reduce the harmful effects of plastic on our environment and are also recyclable:
- Ocean Bound “PP” material is made from plastic waste released into the environment within 50 km of the coast, because in these areas waste management does not exist or is very inefficient. After processing the collected plastic, the material has the properties of PP material. Now available at unieketiket.nl.
- Bio-based PE film glossy white – extracted from non-fossil fuel sources, such as spent frying fat. The material is completely similar to conventional PE material and can be processed in the same way. Plant-based PE film can be recycled if sorted into the standard polyolefin recycling stream.
