Meet the team with: Marion Koch

Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Marion Koch and I am 37 years old. I enjoy working in a team with different characters and departments – it is something new every day. Since I like to organize and coordinate, this job fits my interests and skills perfectly. I am also not afraid to make decisions and try things out.

What is your professional background?

After earning my high school diploma with a focus on business administration, I decided to study media design for digital and print media, specializing in media design.
However, in order not to stand still and to be able to develop personally, I decided to continue my training as a media specialist alongside my job. After my first parental leave and when I returned to work, I had the opportunity to turn customer complaints into something positive for the company. I documented and analyzed our mistakes in order to further develop our processes and ourselves. After a second period of parental leave, I joined the production management team and I am currently mainly responsible for production planning and scheduling personnel deployment. In addition, I am available to our production team for questions and support our QA team in difficult cases.

How did your path lead you to unieketiket.nl?

I started working as a media designer at Druckerei Nilles in 2009 and was able to support unieketiket.nl from the beginning. I joined the then Druckerei Nilles right after my final exams and just wanted to consolidate the technical basics of the trade that I had to learn in theory for the exam. I quickly noticed that I felt much more comfortable in this field than in the world of designers. The idea of getting a taste of the printing air has now turned into 15 years. In Trittenheim, I also got the chance to see how unieketiket.nl developed from an idea to a thriving business. I had the chance to collaborate on the logo and follow every step of the company’s creation.

What is your role at unieketiket.nl and what does your daily work look like?

After a second period of parental leave, I joined the production management team. I schedule customer orders on our machines, determine the sequence of machine operations and, in consultation with customer service, ensure that delivery dates and special customer requests are met. I am always available to answer production questions, make quality decisions or obtain necessary information.

Thanks to my training in media design, I am familiar with graphics programs and can check our customers’ data for suitability for production and, if necessary, suggest alternative or more effective solutions. By working closely with the machine operators, I can best assess the feasibility and effect of a finish on the label.

What is special about your job?

The variety of tasks and the freedom to make decisions. Constantly learning about new machines with their possibilities and challenges through new technologies and also being allowed to make mistakes that allow you to grow. Another special feature of my job is the team that supports each other: For me they are not just colleagues at work, many have become friends.

I enjoy coming to work every day; it doesn’t feel like work to me. I enjoy the things I get to do here.
We are a team of so many different people who, together with their strengths and weaknesses, drive something great, and individuals don’t get lost in all the hustle and bustle. Everyone gets a chance to realize their own potential and bring in their strengths. In recent years, we have been able to create an incredible sense of togetherness that helps us not lose focus, build on our strengths and achieve our goals.

What was or is your unieketiket.nl highlight?

There is no specific moment I can mention here. Actually, the trust placed in me is the biggest highlight. I also appreciate the opportunities offered to me – whether it’s combining work and home with two children and a management position, or business trips that further my personal development
